Behind the Scenes

Photographing a newborn is difficult.  It's hard to get them to really look the way you see them, they have a small window of time when they'll tolerate you posing them, and they don't do much.  But the biggest challenge I have in trying to get a good picture of Julia is that every other photo ends up something like this . . .

When the camera is pointed at Julia, Macy turns into a super model that must have her picture taken immediately.  This has led to several Macy photo shoots.  She loves to pose.

Juju's Second Month

Julia worked very hard this month growing irresistible cheeks and munchable thighs (she gained nearly three pounds this month).  The growth-spurt resulted in a week and a half of some fussiness, but we have worked through that now and she is a content, happy baby again.

Her neck is strong and she loves tummy time, especially because
Macy is always right down there with her.

But the best progress is the beautiful open-mouth smiles
that are becoming more and more frequent.

two-month stats:
eleven pounds, ten ounces (72%)
twenty-two and a quarter inches (45%)
fifteen-inch head circumference (29%)

We are so in love with our little Juli-uli-ia/Juju/Baby Julia.

Frame by Frame

Here is the frame-by-frame of Macy enjoying the water feature at our favorite park . . .

This is repeated over and over and the surprised look on her face is always the same.

Summer Fun

Julia is such a good baby that our summer fun has not slowed down a bit.

JuJu just goes with the flow everywhere we go in the "bunk bed" stroller.

This last picture is my favorite Macy moment of the summer so far.  Here she is decked out to be in our neighborhood parade.  Her cowboy boots were too small so we improvised.  She was so excited she was beaming!  When she came through with the kids, she yelled out to me, "Look Mom, I'm in a parade!"

Unfortunately, when she came around with the parade my camera battery died which made me cry a little, I am blaming it on hormones.

Sisters

Macy loves baby Julia.  She always has to know where she is and if Julia makes any sound at all Macy has to know "what is wrong with her?"

Macy does not like anyone but JD or me to hold Julia.  She immediately insists "I want my baby back!"

I love seeing my girls together.  I have two constant reminders that prayers are answered and miracles do happen!

Grammy's Visit

We are so glad that Grammy came home for a week when Julia was born.  My mom helped me a ton and Macy had so much fun spending time with Grammy, her aunts and cousins while we were in the hospital.  Unfortunately, Macy now thinks that Grammy means no Mom or Dad around and is a little wary of her.

We love you Grammy and Grampy!
