First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was the big day! Macy's first day of kindergarten. She was very excited and we were a little teary. We drove her over and she rode the bus home. 

She was very happy they were starting with circle time just like when Curious George went to kindergarten.  

Yesterday, JD created a cardboard runway and she modeled some school outfits with serious model attitude.  

I will miss my silly little friend every morning. Sometimes letting go is hard! But I was happy to see her so happy when she got home. And Julia loved being the Queen Bee for the morning. This is going to be a great year.

Macy's First Loose Teeth

Macy lost her first tooth on Father's day. Grampy pulled it for her in front of a large crowd of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was too intimidated by the crowd to cry and had to be brave. But when the tooth next to it was loose a few weeks later, she waited until it fell out by itself (with a little help from the Mike and Ikes she was eating). 

When she first told me she had a loose tooth and I checked it, I felt a little like I had been punched in the stomach. This girl is growing up fast. Before it came out she would come up to me about every 20 minutes, "Can you believe I have a loose tooth? How is it doing?" Her permanent teeth are almost all the way in already.

She wrote the tooth fairy a letter and got a tiny letter back. 

Julia is 2

We had a bubble party for Julia's birthday. It turned out to be a really windy day which was really disappointing for me because it limited what we had planned but it was out of my control.

The bubbles had to be relocated inside because of the wind. As the party was starting we were chasing huge garbage bags full of balloons that were blowing over the fence. 

Rosie and Juju have a special bond. It is really cute. Anywhere we went all summer Rosie took care of Julia.

JD built this adorable kitchen for her present. They all love it and play with it a ton. 

We love Julia so much. She is so sweet and hilarious. She is the snuggliest little girl. Older kids LOVE her and try so hard to gain her affection and she makes them really work for it. We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Build-a-Bear

For Juju's birthday we had our first experience with Build-a-Bear. Grammy treated the girls and it was so much fun.

It was amazing how much of an opinion Julia had and how she was able to communicate it with us, since she doesn't talk much.
