Lies and Lists

I had the following conversation with a friend in my ward the other day:

Friend: How old is JD?
Me: He will turn 32 next month.

It wasn't until later that night that it hit me that I had lied. He will be 33. Which means I will also be turning 33. I lost a year somewhere. So, I decided to make a *list of 32 things to do before I turn 33 (somewhat reminicent of Phoebe). Some are fun (#5. sew a cute apron) and easy (see Secret Life of Bees) and some are more time consuming (#3. listen to/read Jesus the Christ) and hard (see below).

I managed to start two of the list items and complete one on our vacation in St. George. Ryan was so nice and babysat while JD and I saw Secret Life of Bees. And I enlisted two little ladies, Macy (of course) and the adorable Millie, to help me with the first. They rode in the neon green chariot and I started the first three days of my eight week beginner runner training schedule (Heaven help me). I also knitted seven hats towards my goal of twenty hats for the Humanitarian Center.

The problem is I am still trying to complete my list. So, besides trying to give myself some accountability, I want your ideas.

What would you put on your list? They can be fun, serious or crazy. But need to be doable. And what are some good songs for my running playlist?

* I LOVE lists.

What a fabulous idea! I love you green jogger and great job on the hats. I can think of 4 things to put on my list: sleep in, take a photography class, get a facial, and go to the temple once a month. You are once again inspiring all of us with your ideas.

I love the look on Macy's face in that picture. What a great idea (I love lists too--there's nothing better than the feeling you get when you cross something off)!

The 2 songs I'm loving right now are "Realize" by Colbie Callait and "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. They're both on my blog if you'd like to sample them.

I think your list should include a written story of your journey to get Macy here and the feelings you had at her birth, etc. I'm working on that right now for Kiara and can't wait until it's finished. I think it will come in handy during the teenage years filled with insecurities and "nobody likes me" days.

Oh and "Gracie" by Ben Folds is a great one too and it sounds like "Macy" so it would totally work for you! It's also on my playlist.

My list is simple, sleep in, take a nap and go to bed early. Just kidding. My big project right now is to "slurp" my blog, lose 20 lbs, and give up chocolate. Ok at least I can tackle slurping my blog. Love YOu. Oh and music I will email you all my favorites.

Did you know that you are turning in to your mother making hats for the humanitarian group? Don't get me wrong that isn't a bad thing, just an observation. I recommend so sweet hip hop music for your running.

What does it mean to "slurp" a blog? Anyways, this is a very inspiring post. Your hats are absolutely adorable. Good for you! Some things on my list are learn to make homemade bread and tortillas. Anyone know a good recipe? Another thing I feel is very important that I need to do is take a CPR/First Aid class. They have them at Primary Children's if anyone wants to take with me.
